Australia's worst female killer cannibal focus of Hollywood film

A Hollywood production company plans to make a film about Australia’s worst female killer cannibal.

During her horrific crime, Katherine Knight murdered her boyfriend, John Price, decapitated him and boiled up his head on his kitchen stove with vegetables and gravy.

In 2000 police found the grisly murder scene in a home in the Hunter Valley, north of Sydney.

Price had been stabbed 37 times, his ‘skin suit’ was found hanging from a meat hook on the living room door.

Knight, a former abattoir worker, then arranged his body with one arm draped over a drink bottle.

She left a note accusing him of being a rapist and a child molester, claims that were unfounded.

Police who investigated the crime had to seek counseling due to what they had seen.

In the kitchen they found baked potatoes, pumpkin in the oven and a warm pot with Price’s head floating inside along with cabbage and zucchini.

Knight had also made gravy and set a table with place names for Price’s three children.

In a collaboration with Australian producer Dan Millerd, Beverly Hills company Shoreline Entertainment plans to base a film on the book ‘Blood Stain’ which is about Knight’s crimes.

Knight was Australia’s first woman to be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

She currently serves time in Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre, where she makes about $70 a week assembling airline headsets.

The 60-year-old grandmother has been in custody since her arrest on the same day police found Price’s body.

During sentencing she changed her plea to guilty as news of her strange and violent private life surfaced.

Knight had a history of domestic violence against her partners.

Her first husband David Kellett was warned by her mother: "You better watch this one or she'll f***king kill you. Stir her up the wrong way or do the wrong thing and you're f***ked."

On their wedding night, she allegedly tried to strangle her husband and while pregnant she set his clothing on fire and hit him on the head with a frying pan.

In 1986, she met David Saunders and two years later slit the throat of his puppy in front of him.

During an argument she stabbed him in the stomach with scissors and he left her.

Years later she met Price.

In 2006 Knight applied to the court of criminal appeal, claiming her life sentence was too severe for her crime.

The appeal was rejected.
