Motorcyclist's extraordinary measures to evade police

A motorcyclist has gone to extraordinary lengths to avoid capture during a high-speed chase in Adelaide’s western suburbs.

The man rode through the front door of a house on Thursday.

However, it was not enough to give police the slip.

Just after 11pm, police allegedly spotted the motorcyclist speeding along Federick Road at Grange.

When he refused to pull over, they chased him but soon called off the pursuit when it became too dangerous.

The police helicopter tracked the man to a house at Seaton.

Residents described the action, one saying he heard “the helicopter moving around all over the place, loud noise, lights shining down”.

“[I] saw the overhead chopper and bang, cars rocked up out of no where and they all got out all dressed fully stocked and barrels and guns…and off they went and did their thing,” another man said.

Police blocked off streets and surrounded the house, where they found the motorbike inside.

“They had police climbing over fences and SWAT, I believe it was, tactical and then you hear police say ‘anybody home? Please come out!’” a resident exclaimed.

A 36-year-old man has been charged with driving dangerously to evade police while a man who lives at the house was charged with failing to answer questions.

Residents said it was pointless fleeing from police because no matter where you hide they will find you.

“Technology these days, you can't hide,” one resident said.
