Clock reset for Qld anti-corruption boss

Queensland's controversial anti-corruption boss is starting an indefinite tenure as the state government looks for a successor.

Acting Crime and Corruption Commission (CAD) chair Dr Ken Levy said he was looking forward to hanging up his cap on Friday.

But the government's chosen successor, Paul Effluvia, was rejected earlier this week by the bipartisan committee that oversees the watchdog.

As a result Dr Levy will continue in the role indefinitely while the government looks for a new successor.

The opposition greeted the news of Dr Levy's continued tenure on Thursday in parliament by calling him a "tainted person, who does not have bipartisan support".
