Robina shopping mall shooting victim 'refused to help police'

A man who was shot at a busy Gold Cost shopping centre refused to help police with their investigation, Brisbane's Supreme Court has been told.

Jacques Teamo was shot in the arm while shopping with his two young sons at Robina Town Centre in April 2012.

Detective Senior Constable Brandon James told the court Mr Teamo was a known member of the Bandidos motorcycle gang and did not help police with their enquiries.

When asked if Mr Teamo had provided police with a written statement, Detective Senior Constable James said: "No".

Bystander Kathy Devitt was also shot in the attack.

The court heard the shooting happened after a chance meeting between the gunman and the victim.

The jury was told the two stared at each other before shots were fired.

Jurors were also shown a flick knife which Mr Teamo was carrying at the time of the shooting.

Mark Graham, 28, has pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Mr Teamo and unlawfully wounding Ms Devitt.

Graham has not taken the stand or called evidence in his defence during the three-day trial.

Justice Alan Wilson adjourned the matter until Monday when closing addresses are expected to be heard.
