Mohammed, 10, tells Australians they should 'get to know' Muslims

Mohammed, a 10-year-old Muslim boy from Bankstown, has called 702 ABC Sydney to tell Australians that they should take a leaf out his schoolmates' books.

"I haven't had problems with my friends at school, even though they aren't Muslims," Mohammed told Richard Glover.

"They're not racist, and I think everyone else should learn from the children.

"Children just understand each other, and they get along, and they don't care what race, what religion, what culture."

Mohammed advised Australians to stop making generalisations based on the actions of a few.

"Get to know us," said Mohammed.

"When you get to know us, we're actually very good people."
