Two men dead in car crash near Vic airport

Two men have died in a three-car smash near Melbourne's Tullamarine airport.

The crash occurred just after 5pm on Wednesday on Sunbury Rd, when police say the driver of a blue Holden lost control of his vehicle.

The Holden collided with an oncoming car, and another car following it.

"Two male occupants in a second vehicle were killed," according to a Victoria Police statement.

"The driver of the Holden was taken to The Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries."

The male driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Group are at the crash scene.

The two deaths take Victoria's 2014 road toll to 142.
