Brazen robber attacks sick teen

A sick teenager was tackled to the ground during a frightening robbery at Preston Railway Station.

Conroy Warr was innocently waiting for a train on the station platform when he fell victim to the brazen attack.

The 17-year-old, who suffers from Scoliosis and a larynx disorder, was approached by an unknown man who demanded he hand over his mobile phone and cash.

When Conroy refused, the man grabbed him and wrestled him to the ground, threatening to punch him in the face if he did not comply with his demands.

"I thought 'what the heck?' Why pick on someone with a disability?" Conroy said.

When Conroy eventually released the phone, the culprit fled, yelling 'You just got robbed'.

Conroy said he has not only been robbed of his possessions - a brand new phone and his weekly wage - but also his freedom.

"It's made me feel really scared," he said. "I don't want to catch trains from that platform again."

Police say the offender jumped off the end of the platform and was last seen walking along Cramer Steet towards High Street.

CCTV has been released of man seen roaming around a market where Conroy works, just before the attack. Police are keen to speak to the person in the video.

The culprit is described as Caucasian, approximately 20 years of age, of medium build and around 170cms tall with short dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing blue jeans and a grey hooded jumper and a black bum bag.
