Sydney police are appealing for information to capture a man believed to be armed and dangerous.

Gordon Cramp is wanted over the stabbing death of a man at Dunheved in the city's west.

The body of a 65-year-old factory worker was found at about 5.30am yesterday morning, on the frontyard near the recycling plant where he worked on Links Road.

Police warn that the 37-year-old suspect shouldn't be approached, and anyone who spots him should contact police immediately on Triple-0.

Mr Cramp is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, with a thin build and very short, dark hair.
