There has been a major development in the case of missing Adelaide woman Rachael Moritz, with police confident she is alive and well.
They released a statement today saying she has contacted a relative, but her family is not so sure.
Rachael Moritz disappeared 10 days ago after her father dropped her off at an address at Greenacres, in Adelaide’s north east.
Her mother, two sisters and her father have all made emotional pleas for her safe return.
Her father spoke to 7News this afternoon while he was putting up posters at Christies Beach.
“Just ring us, anything Rach, just anything, a phone call, or something just to let us know you’re alright,” he said.
But just two hours later, police released a statement saying they now believe Ms Moritz is safe and well because she contacted a relative yesterday.
It was only when asked about this that the family admitted they had received a call from a payphone and Ms Moritz said she would be home in a few days.
But they say they are not convinced it was her.
Mr Moritz said he will not believe the call was from his daughter until he sees her in the flesh, and until then, he will keep up the search.Ms Moritz is still classified as a missing person and police are appealing for her to make contact.
