Gold Coast contestant Andrea ‘Storm’ Kaden surprised The X Factor judges at her audition when she revealed she was 14 years old.
After an atrocious first try, the singer was given a second chance and made it to the next round thanks to a pitch-perfect rendition of Paramore’s “The Only Exception”.
Nonetheless, the feisty contestant – who has turned 15 since the audition, – has been questioned by online viewers who believe she is older than that – especially after she said that she had worked for Hooters, a restaurant chain famous for the revealing outfits worn by its waitresses.
After conducting inquiries, The Daily Telegraph has confirmed that Kaden was indeed 14 years old when she auditioned for The X Factor and that she worked as a door-greeter and food and beverage runner at Hooters' Gold Coast.
“Yes, she worked at our Mermaid Beach restaurant in Queensland, where the age limit for such positions is 13," Hooters spokeswoman Rachel Holtgrave told the newspaper.
Kaden has not been shy about her ambitions: "I want to be famous because it opens up a whole lot of opportunities," she said.
“I just think it would be an amazing lifestyle. You walk out of your house and there’s people saying, 'Oh my gosh, it's Storm, can I get your autograph and a picture?'"'Family man paid for sex with child' Yahoo!7 News
