Authorities warn that arsonists will be caught, after three youths were detained in Sydney's west today.
Police were alerted of a fire in bushland in Shalvey just after one o'clock this afternoon.
More than a dozen fire vehicles, and five police cars were deployed to the area.
Around ten hectares were affected by the fire, and it took crews two and a half hours to bring the blaze under control.
Shortly after the fire was contained, three juveniles were taken into custody close to the scene.
Deputy Commissioner Mick Fuller says police and fire authorities can track down firebugs quickly.
“The RFS are using aerial technology to examine fires as they occur. This helps the RFS and Arson Unit investigators determine if the fire is suspicious,” Deputy Commissioner Fuller said.Man who clung to his capsized kayak in seas off Brisbane for more than six hours says he was worried about sharks http://t.co/tKeVsI1b3R
