It's a moment that many have been waiting for - Pippa Middleton is single and back on the market.

But be warned: You better be sporty or athletic.

The 27-year-old, famous for her figure hugging dress at the royal wedding of her sister Catherine to Prince William, has split from long-time lover Alex Loudon, The Sun reported.

The pair have allegedly been having a series of arguments that ended up leading to the demise of their relationship.

"Pippa tried to get over the split by spending last weekend with Wills and Kate at (Scottish royal residence) Balmoral," a source said.

"She and Alex split briefly in the summer, but this time it's over. They are barely speaking."

The pair recently had a furious argument at a friends wedding, reports said.

The source added, "It was said after the wedding that Alex was jealous of Pippa flirting with Prince Harry. But the truth is, she and Harry are just (friends)."

Middleton is in no rush to find a new boyfriend, friends say.

"She's always gone for sporty guys," a pal said.
