Man helps elderly lady cross the street... kindness backfires
A man’s attempt to help an elderly woman cross the street has left him red-faced after he left his handbrake off.
The shocking moment was captured on a dashboard camera in Estonia.
The man, driving a silver SUV, stops to help an elderly woman on crutches cross the street.
But he forgets to put his handbrake on and only realises as the car moves towards him.
He tries to use his foot to stop the vehicle but accidentally knocks the woman over.
She managed to get back to her feet.
Estonian news website Postimees reports the driver who filmed the incident rang an ambulance for the woman.
“Everything appeared to be in order and an ambulance was called so I left the scene,” he said.
The footage has re-emerged on Reddit and has more than 2,600 comments.
“As a Brit, I honestly thought he was the passenger and the driver was violently disagreeing with his decision to stop and help,” Ev_3 posted.
It’s not known if the elderly woman suffered any injuries.
