A struggling Baldivis man has claimed $509,947 after winning the division one Lotto prize.
The man, who has claimed the prize from a draw on June 8, said he had been forced to stop supporting local charities after being made redundant and only recently returning to the workforce.
He said he hoped to continue giving to charity after the win.
"It's been a rough few years but I think my luck has changed and this is the start of more good things to come. I'm a giver, that's just the sort of person I am," he said.
The man said he would also use some of the prize money to pay off some of his mortgage and help close family members.
The man bought the ticket after "feeling lucky" and had joked with people earlier in the day that he was going to win the top prize.
