A-list flocks to Sin City to watch history making Mayweather showdown

As Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor went head to head for their money-spinning showdown, Las Vegas crackled with anticipation for what is poised to become the richest fight in history.

Celebrities and high net-worth individuals flocked to Sin City to watch the flight and some came via private jets, plenty of private jets.

Jennifer Lopez posted an image on social media of her flying in on a private jet owned by billionaire Robert Craft.

Chris Hemsworth also posted a picture of himself on the way to the fight on board a private jet with Hollywood mega producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Celebrities seen at the match included Mike Tyson, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, LeBron James, Demi Lovato and Charlize Theron.

As of Saturday, high rollers had placed four separate bets of $1.2 million or more had been placed on Mayweather to win.

Those wagers included a $1.4 million cash bet that will earn around $300,000.

ESPN reported on Saturday that Mayweather is guaranteed a $126 million purse from the fight, which could reach $315 million if the most bullish pay-per-view targets are met.

McGregor, a 29-year-old former plumber who was living on unemployment benefits four years ago, is guaranteed $37 million, but could pocket as much as $120 million, ESPN said.

Whether the megafight will be the richest of all-time, as promoters predicted, is still to be determined but Mayweather left no doubt of his place in the pantheon of boxing greats in what he said was his last fight.

Mayweather simply outclassed McGregor to win their much-hyped super fight and as hard as he tried, McGregor simply had no answer to the Mayweather's speed and technical ability.
