'Look my sister's dead': Drunk teen live streams horrific crash
WARNING - DISTURBING CONTENT: An intoxicated teenage driver live streamed a horrific car crash that killed her 14-year-old sister.
Obdulia Sanchez was arrested and accused of driving under the influence when she crashed her white sedan in Los Banos, California, on Friday.
With her little sister Jacqueline in the backseat, the 18-year-old driver was sharing live footage to Instagram when she ploughed her car into a barbwire fence.
The vehicle rolled it several times onto a field, according to the Merced Sun Star.
A moment later Jacqueline’s lifeless body can be seen lying motionless on the floor, as Obdulia continues to talk to the camera.
“I killed my sister, but I don't care. I killed my sister,” Obdulia says into the camera as another woman frantically screams for help.
“I know I'm going to prison, but I don't care. I'm sorry baby. I'm a hold it down.
“Jacqueline, please wake up. I f****** killed my sister, OK?
“I know I'm going to jail for life. I love my sister… this is the last thing I thought was going to happen to us.”
Authorities now believe Jacqueline was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown through back window of the car.
She was supposed to be celebrating her Quinceanera (15th birthday) on Sunday.
Obdulia, who was wearing a seatbelt, escaped with only minor injuries.
Police said they are aware of the gory video circulating around the Internet and it will form part of their investigation
“Sanchez was under the influence when she rolled her car over, into a barbed wire fence and then a field,” police told ABC30.
She is now in the Merced County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence as well as driving under the influence.
Heartbroken family members said they too were aware of the live footage that was streamed to Instagram and have since started a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of Jacqueline’s funeral.
