'I'll tell your parole officer about your shenanigans': Cop texts phone thief
A police officer in the US has come up with a unique and hilarious method of getting a stolen phone back to its owner.
Dominic Junio, from De Pere in Wisconsin, posted on Facebook that his friend Hannah Schroeder had lost her phone at a gas station.
Someone had found the phone, but told Hannah she would have to pay to get it back.
Junio decided the police needed to be involved in the transaction.
As it turned out, Schroeder's brother was a Green Bay police officer, and he told them to call police.
They did so, asking for officers to help them recover the phone.
Officer Conley snapped a selfie, texting it to Schroeder's number with the message: "Meet us or I will notify your Parole Officer about your shenanigans."
The picture, which Junio later posted on Facebook, has been widely circulated on social media, with more than 1000 shares and 4200 likes.
"I think it was awesome because I'm sure they're busy guys and that might seem like a waste of time, but who knows what the guy could've tried to pull if they weren't there," Junio said of the officers' involvement.
"Because of them it went very smoothly and I met an awesome cop out of it all too."
