Man pleads guilty to murdering Melbourne mum Karen Chetcuti

A Victorian man has admitted to murdering a mother whose battered and burnt body was found days after her disappearance.

Michael Cardamone, 49, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court in Melbourne on Friday to the murder of Karen Chetcuti, and he will face formal plea and sentencing hearings in August.

"It's a total relief that this day has come, I never thought he'd plead guilty," Ms Chetcuti's sister Leny Verbunt said outside court.
