WATCH: Was this the Brighton gunman's farewell feast?

A video of a man believed to be Melbourne gunman Yacqub Khayre before his rampage could be a vital clue into the killer’s state of mind.

Police have seized footage of Khayre from a Somali restaurant.

A group of men are seen breaking their Ramadan fast and praying at a café just two days before Khayre killed David Hao with a gun and took a female escort hostage at an apartment building in Brighton.

Sharifo Abiikar, a worker at the restaurant, said the group were celebrating.

“Someone told me they were having a graduation party,” she said.

It’s believed the video could reveal what motivated Khayre’s actions.
