WATCH: Serbian officials use 'insecticide' to remove refugees

Video has emerged of Serbian authorities spraying a derelict building housing refugees with what is allegedly toxic insecticide.

Officials wearing full body protection and gas masks spray liquid around the building.

Tents are seen on constructed on the floor with what appears to be blankets.

The video then cuts to a man, claiming to be a volunteer, approaching the officials spraying the building.

“So they say they asked all the people to leave before this happened,” he says.

“But the people were still inside while they’re spraying.”

A man with a mask on is seen denying the accusations by crossing his arms.

“Now they’re saying go outside,” he says.

The man identifies the men spraying the gas as the Serbian Commissariat for the Refugess and Migration.

The Independent reports Serbian authorities evicted 1,200 refugees from a makeshift camp in central Belgrade last week.

Reports on how those living in the camp were evicted are mixed with some local aid workers describing the operation as “remarkably smooth” and others said it was chaotic.

The Commissariat has since denied using insecticide.
