Mother charged after allegedly beating toddler to death

A 22-year-old mother has been charged with the murder of her toddler daughter, two months after the little girl died in hospital after allegedly being bashed.

The mother’s boyfriend is also facing a murder charge.

Video forms part of the murder investigation around the two-year-old girl.

The woman, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, appears to carry a seemingly sleeping child a driveway on the afternoon of December 19 last year.

The toddler is covered in a blanket and police allege murder accused Mohammad Khazma is with them.

They place her in the backseat of a car parked on the street before they appear to embrace.

But police believe it was the sinister aftermath of a brutal assault.

The mother drove to a nearby home where desperate attempts to revive the critically injured girl were made, but she died the following day in hospital.

Khazma was arrested by police and charged with the girl’s murder.

But seven weeks later, there was a stunning development on Friday.

Detectives now allege the toddler was beaten to death by Khazma and her mother inside a Guildford granny flat.

The mother did not apply for bail when her matter was heard in court at Parramatta on Saturday.

She will remain in custody with her case is due to come back before the courts next week.

Police believe the mother had only met Khazma weeks before the attack
