Whoops! MacBook Pros sold for $170 through online retailer

An online UK retailer was offering the brand-new MacBook Pro for as little as $170 in what was dubbed either a really good deal or a really bad mistake.

The new Apple laptops sell for about $2000, but for a few hours on Wednesday night they were selling for less than a tenth of that price through the online retailer Argos, Beta News reports.

Only one of the recent model Macs was available for the eye-wateringly low price, but potential customers who wanted to buy the MacBook with the fancy touchpad only encountered a small spinning wheel that led nowhere, the tech site reports.

The page has since been removed but it is not clear if the bargain price included any of the many dongles required to use the new Macbook after Apple continued its trend of removing ports from its products.
