Two killed in fiery head-on truck crash in Sydney's west

Two people have died after a head-on crash involving two trucks in Sydney’s west.

A NSW Police spokeswomen said just after 1.30pm Thursday, emergency services were called to Lenore, Dr, Erskine Park, after reports two heavy vehicles had crashed head on.

Both vehicles, one a semi-trailer, erupted in flames following the crash.

Two people, believed to be the drivers, were found dead at the scene.

They haven’t been formally identified and their ages aren’t yet known.

Officers from St Marys Local Area Command attended the crash along with two fire crews, one from St Marys and another from Mt Druitt.

A crime scene was established as police investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The road was closed for a number of hours to enable examination of the scene.
