A grieving mother who lost her son to a motorcycle accident has agreed to release a confronting video of the young man's final moments in a bid to spread a message of road safety.

Lewis Clark, of Isle of Man, and another rider died instantly when their bikes collided in a head-on crash on a mountain and burst into flames.

An on-bike camera captured the shocking final moments before the crash on the mountain route.

In the footage, one biker can be seen straying into Mr Clark's path.

As the bikes collide, large flames fill the sky in the distance.

Grey smoke clouds billow into the sky.

Other riders who trail slightly behind the pair can see the wreckage in full view.

Police said little was left of the charred bikes.

Chief Inspector Steve Maddocks, of Isle of Man Police, said sharing this kind of footage sent a "very impactive" message about road safety.

Lewis's mother Beverley, as well as the family of the other rider killed in the smash, agreed to share the video to highlight the dangers on the roads.

"If I can just save one life, then something positive will have come out of this horrific journey that we're now on," the devastated woman told the Mirror.

"I just never want another mother to feel like I do today.

"Just to hug him close one more time and tell him I love him, I can never do that. My arms just ache to hold my baby boy every day."
