Police vehicle and truck involved in crash on the M1
A marked police vehicle was struck by a truck on the M1 at Helensvale, in Queensland, on Monday morning.
Initial investigations suggest the truck collided with the police car which was parked on the side of the motorway at about 11.25am.
Police say two male officers, aged 48 and 50, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The driver was trapped and had to be extricated, while the passenger was able to get out of the car.

Both of the officers and the driver of the truck, who is a 26-year-old man, were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Emergency crews were called to the incident at about 11.25am on Monday.
The two left lanes were closed off as a result of the accident but are thought to have reopened.
Authorities are continuing their investigations.
