Man arrested after $13 million LSD seizure in Melbourne

A man has been charged after police seized $13 million worth of LSD in Melbourne.

Detectives raided properties in Tottenham and Maidstone on Wednesday and allegedly found a commercial quantity of the banned drug.

A 39-year-old Maidstone man appeared in court on Thursday, charged with a number of drug importation charges.

He was bailed to reappear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 7.

North West Metro Division 2 Superintendent Stuart Bateson said the arrest came after a multi-agency operation.

“Victoria Police work closely with our law enforcement partners, including Australian Border Force, to interrupt the supply of dangerous drugs to the community,” he said.

“On this occasion we seized a commercial quantity of LSD, valued at approximately $13 million.
