Out of control car nearly kills reporter on live TV
Talk about breaking news!
A Bay Area television reporter in the US and his cameraman narrowly avoided being hit by a car during a live shot on Tuesday morning.
Alex Savidge, a reporter for Oakland’s KTVU, was delivering an update on an overnight train derailment in Sunol, Calif., when a car involved in a traffic accident veered off the road and came speeding toward him and his cameraman, Chip Vaughan.
Savidge and Vaughan managed to dive out of the way as the car raced across the curb and came to a stop in the parking lot where they were standing.

“My heart’s racing like crazy!” Savidge tweeted. “Almost got hit by a car live on air, but I’m OK.–Thanks everyone for your concern.”

“It almost hit me,” Savidge said in a video posted to Facebook.
“I was turned the other way, and the photographer screamed at me to get out of the way, and I did.

"I jumped out of the way at the very last minute. And my heart hasn’t stopped racing ... I have not experienced anything quite like that in my entire life.”
Savidge also apologised to viewers for using “some foul language” during the chaos.
“I was freaked out,” he said.
