Man does the unthinkable after stopping to 'help' crash victim

A heartless thief has taken advantage of a woman who was left helpless and traumatised after a serious car accident on a highway in Texas.

Kimberly Smith was robbed after her car swerved off an Irving highway and rolled three times, on Sunday morning.

Ms Smith had just gotten out of the flipped vehicle, when a man pretending to be a Good Samaritan approached her and told her he had found her purse.

Then while Ms Smith looked for her phone, the man slipped away under the pretense of calling 911 and drove off in a faded red pickup truck.

"Next thing I know, he's gone and my wallet is missing,” Smith told Fox 4 News.

“He must be in a hard situation to feel the need to steal from someone that has just gone through a traumatic experience, who could have nearly died or suffered serious injuries."

To make matters worse, Ms Smith then had trouble getting somebody else to stop and help her.

“People were slowing down, taking pictures,” she said.

They would then drive off, even though she was asking for people to call 911.

She says dozens of cars drove past her, before one kind man from interstate finally stopped to help her.

While Ms Smith is hoping to track down the men who helped her so that she can thank him, her brother has taken to social media to try and track down the thief.

“If anybody has a "friend" that is bragging about robbing some girl after she flipped her car this morning, please be a real friend and let us know,” Joshua Smith wrote in Facebook post shortly after the accident, which has since been shared over 82,000 times.

“He is described as a tall, skinny black male, in his 30's, driving a red pickup truck.”

“I hope this guy who stopped to "help" and everyone that did not stop at all, is not a majority in our society today. We are better people than that.”

Sadly this is far from the first time that a heartless person had done the unthinkable.
