Pedestrian safety move

Two parking bays will be removed from Sharpe Avenue to improve lines of sight for pedestrians when crossing the road.

City of Karratha deputy mayor John Lally said concerns had been raised by the public about the ability to see oncoming traffic.

"We will monitor public feedback on the changes and if there are still safety concerns we will look at more formal solutions," he said.

Mr Lally said a pedestrian crossing had been considered, but at this stage was not necessary. he parking bays will be replaced by low level landscaping.
