Students ready to march on stage

Lead roles in Ants’Hillvania went to Elijah Drown, Bella Davidson and Katie Magee.

On top of their normal homework, Strathalbyn Christian College primary students have been busily learning their lines as they get ready to see their names in lights.

The Stratheatre Primary School production will show Ants’Hillvania over several performances in June.

The students will act and sing their way through the production based on the Bible’s parable of the Prodigal Son and the Parable of the Sower.

Ants’Hillvania is the story of an ant colony in a beautiful forest called Ants‘Hillvania (a pun on Pennsylvania).

The story tells the tale of young Antony, who wants to be independ-ant so he asks his father, the Command-ant, for his inherit-ants and heads out to become rich and famous.

Starring in the production will be a list of young drama students including Bella Davidson, Emma Lindsay, Elijah Drown, Katie Magee, Jessica Kain, Aimee Minchin, Jandre van Staden, Alex O’Brien, Harry Duperouzel, Esther Fletcher and George Goforth.

Among these names will be students from Years 3-6 performing a host of catchy songs and acting.

Tickets are on sale now at the college office for $10 for adults and children evening performances, $5 for seniors matinee session (noon).

The show will take place on Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19.

Bookings are essential as there are limited door sales. To book or for more information phone 9938 9100.
