Murder arrest made after NSW car chase
The WA man arrested in NSW for questioning over the murder of Armadale father Malcolm Taylor was allegedly caught after crashing his car during a police chase.
The 38-year-old crossed to the wrong side of the road and sped away when he saw police on the Central Coast yesterday afternoon, NSW Police allege.
He eventually lost control of the Holden Commodore and crashed into the fence of a property.
Police used their car to block him in and he was unable to escape.
The chase was sparked after WA Police had asked their NSW counterparts to keep an eye out for a blue Holden Commodore bearing stolen WA registration plates and patrolling officers spotted the vehicle about 3pm.
The 38-year-old man is expected to face Wyong Local Court today where WA detectives will apply to have him extradited to Perth for questioning over the murder of Mr Taylor.
WA homicide detectives investigating the disappearance of the 37-year-old father of two announced the breakthrough in the case yesterday.
Mr Taylor has been missing for a fortnight and police believe he is dead although his body has not yet been found.
Mr Taylor, 37, was last seen around Kenwick and Orange Grove on April 29, and has not contacted his teenage children nor touched his bank accounts.
NSW Police said a woman and a six-year-old girl, who were passengers in the Holden during the chase, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
