Manhunt underway for stabbing killer

A manhunt is underway in Adelaide after a man was stabbed to death at Ridleyton overnight.

Police are now searching for a yellow Ford Falcon in connection with the incident.

Residents in the area believe they may have seen the killer escape in the yellow vehicle.

“I saw the car, the yellow car,” a neighbour told 7News.

“He just quickly tan off because he knows people’s going to go after him now.”

Police were called to a home on Blight Street, Ridleyton, just after 11pm on Thursday.

Neighbours heard screams and rushed to the man’s aid just after 11pm on Thursday, however, they were unable to save the blood soaked victim.

The 27-year-old man died at the scene of stab wounds to the chest.

“We quickly called the police and called an ambulance and I saw him bleeding from there,” one neighbour told 7News

“He was bleeding and screaming and saying he’s got stabbed, and after that I saw him collapse.”

According to local residents, the area has a checkered past, known by some as a ‘drug alley’.

Two months ago it was the scene of another violent incident in which a man was beaten with a rock when he refused to give money to some people who approached his car.

Police are now calling for public assistance as they hunt for the killer, and say they are following ‘positive lines of enquiry’.

Police have said investigators do not believe it to be a random attack.
