Social experiment leaves commuters red faced
WARNING: This is very awkward to watch.
A comedian in the United States has decided to see what happens if she walks up to a complete stranger in the middle of a busy New York train station and tries to kiss them.
In a video entitled ‘Kiss Me NYC’, Farah Brook begins her social experiment by saying: ‘We’re going to kiss some people in Grand Central! Let's hope I don't get punched'.
She then approaches passersby and asks for directions.
When the unsuspecting strangers stop to help, Farah makes her move, leaning in and trying to plant a smooch on their lips.
Their awkward encounters are all set to the soundtrack of Kiss Me by Sixpence.
Most of the men and women react with surprise: several push Farah away, while others simply walk off.
But on her final attempt, Farah gets an unexpected response.
She sits down next to a young man who is waiting for a meal in the food court.
A few moments later, Farah leans in to kiss him and after some initial hesitation the bearded stranger warms to the idea and leans in too.
He even goes one-step further, placing his hand on her face to pull her closer.
The video ends with the pair passionately kissing in a somewhat awkward but surprisingly moving moment.
