One dead in Kelmscott crash

UPDATE: A taxi driver has been killed after a horror three-car crash in Perth's south-east.

The crash happened in Kelmscott at the intersection of Albany Highway and Denny Avenue about 1.30pm.

The taxi driver was rushed by ambulance to Armadale-Kelmscott District Memorial Hospital, but he died from serious injuries sustained in the crash.

The intersection and surrounding area were closed for several hours to traffic as Major Crash investigators attempted to piece together the cause of the fatal crash.

Police said they would view CCTV footage from surrounding businesses and from the taxi.

The cars knocked down two traffic light poles.
