Massive weekend line-up for Bunbury

1. Aqua Spectacular

There will be no shortage of events as part of the annual Aqua Spectacular.

Bunbury will be a hub of activity all long weekend with events including the Barrett Swim-Thru, a Dolphin Discovery Centre open day, Koombana Bay Sailing Club regatta and dragon boat racing under the stars.

2.Krikke Boys Shootout

The highlight of the QUIT Bunbury Speedway calendar takes place over the weekend.

Now in its 18th year, the Krikke Boys Shootout is certain to attract another big crowd.

Qualifying begins at 5pm and racing starts at 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Be there to see the champion crowned.

3. The Smith Street Band


Melbourne rockers The Smith Street Band will be in Bunbury as part of their extensive Get High, See Everyone national tour.

Thursday's show at the Prince of Wales Hotel will showcase the band's third album _Throw Me in the River _.

4. Out of the Box + Into the Cube


Out of the Box + Into the Cube is back at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday night featuring electric pop duo Sun City and support band Antonio Paul.

DJ Ndorse will be spinning tunes in the Sky Bar, Bianco's Gourmet Pizza Cafe will be available to buy on the night, and the bar will be serving a selection of drinks including the centre's Sky Bar jam-jar cocktails.

In between sets punters can play some retro arcade games or challenge their mates to ping pong.

5. Multicultural night


The Bunbury Multicultural Group is holding a night of international entertainment at the Graham Bricknell Memorial Music Shell on Saturday night.

Spanish flamenco dancing, Chinese folk songs and the didgeridoo will be among the diverse range of cultural performances being showcased.

International food will be available to add to the night.

Bring a picnic blanket and settle in from 6pm for a night of free family entertainment.

6. Youth Alive


Young people in Bunbury can look forward to six hours of fun and inspiration on Saturday.

Youth Alive WA are bringing one of their hugely successful Groundswell events to DreamBuilders Church.

The event will include an afternoon festival with music, food, inflatables and more, followed by a live concert and an inspirational talk.

7. Exotic Marigold Hotel

In a follow up to 2012's popular The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Sonny's hotel has taken off and has only a single remaining vacancy, meaning he must expand.

The main character (played by Dev Patel) has his eye on a property for expansion of the empire.

8. Ill Starred Captain


Described as one of Australia's hardest working independent bands, Ill Starred Captain is a unique two-piece act.

Playing a diverse range of styles from acoustic folk to rock 'n' roll, the band is now based in Western Australia.

The band, now in its 15th year together, will showcase its sounds at the Prince of Wales Hotel on Friday night.

9. Dalyellup movie


Dalyellup Lions Club will present a free screening of The Lego Movie on Saturday night.

The movie will begin at 7.30pm at Dalyellup's Central Lakes Park.

Dalyellup residents are encouraged to walk due to limited parking and also to bring a chair, cushion or blanket.

Refreshments will be available to purchase.

10. Dolphin Inspiration


The South West's iconic dolphins are the inspiration for a new exhibition at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries.

South West artists have looked at how dolphins can be interpreted as emblems, mythological creatures or in a physical sense.

This is a short-term exhibition run to coincide with the Aqua Spectacular. It starts at 6pm on Saturday and runs until March 15.
