Australian man found dead in Bali hotel room after failing to check out

Indonesian police say there are no signs that violence was involved in the death of an Australian man found in a Bali hotel room.

Kuta Police's criminal unit captain Dewa Tagel said the body of an Australian man was found on Monday by staff at the Fave Hotel in Bali's Seminyak area.

He said staff had tried calling the man's room several times after he failed to check out on time.

When they checked the room they found the body of the 41-year-old Melbourne man.

Captain Dewa Tagel said there were bottles in the room, possibly alcohol, and some medicine, but there were no signs of violence.

The cause of death is being investigated.
