Twelve charged in one hour of Oz Day revelry

Police charged 12 people in one hour during Australia Day festivities last night.

Between 7.45pm and the 8.45pm fireworks, police responded to reports of fighting along the foreshore and issued 15 move-on notices, made five arrests and summonsed seven people.

The 20 charges laid included disorderly conduct, obstructing police and breach of move-on notices.

Police also charged three people for driving without a licence and issued two people with traffic infringements.
