Manu's piece de resistance almost ready

My Kitchen Rules' *Manu Feildel *has described the countdown to the birth of his daughter as the "calm before the storm".

After sharing the happy news with fans on social media in August, the cheeky French chef is gearing up to welcome the bundle of joy with *Perth *-raised fiancee *Clarissa Weerasena *.

While he is over the moon at the thought of being a dad again, he admits he's not looking forward to the sleepless nights.

"It's the calm before the storm," he told _AAA _. "I'm sure it's going to be hard work and that's the way life is."

The couple, right, share their excitement with Feildel's 10-year-old son *Jonti *, who is looking forward to having a sibling.

"He's very very excited to meet his sister," he said.

With Weerasena now on the home stretch, Feildel says he's thankful she has had a smooth pregnancy.

"It's been great so far, everything is going the way it's supposed to go and I'm very excited," he said. "It's going to be a great year."

The arrival of his second child will prove a balancing act for Feildel, with the sixth season of Seven's reality cooking hit My Kitchen Rules launching on February 2, close to the baby's impending birth.
