Darcy Burger usually starts his day around 6am, so last weekend when he was getting ready to go to work, he was gutted to find his day had already been ruined.

The third-year apprentice had about $1500 worth of tools stolen from his ute overnight.

“I was getting ready to go and checked I had all of my equipment for the day, ” he said.

“When I saw a couple of important tools were missing, I just assumed I had left them at my boss’s place — so I went over there to grab them.

“That was when I realised my tools worth thousands of dollars had been flogged — what kind of low life does that?”

He said his car was parked outside his home in Seacrest when the gear was taken.

An air gun, drop saw, nail gun, socket set and an esky were pinched, which Mr Burger said was a loss as he qualifies as a carpenter in February.

“I am pretty gutted — I had to miss out on a $400 job I was going to do because I didn't have my tools,” he said.

“The gear they took is what I use for the bigger jobs, so I will have to borrow other people’s stuff until I can afford new tools. Karma will get whoever took my gear.”
