Woman names her alleged killer shortly before death

A young woman raped, stabbed and left to die on the outskirts of town managed to stay alive just long enough to identify her alleged attacker.

Romanian woman Eliza Dragne, 30, had arranged to meet a new man she had speaking with via Facebook for a drink, and accepted an offer for him to pick her up.

Instead of driving her to a bar, it is alleged her drove her to a secluded spot and attacked her.

Police reportedly said the victim was beaten and raped, before she was strangled and stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver.

They said the accused then logged into her Facebook account on the victim’s mobile phone and deleted messages between the pair, Daily Mail reports.

But Ms Dragne survived the attack and managed to drag herself to a nearby road where a passing motorist spotted her and called for help.

Investigators believe it could have taken her as much as two hours of crawling before she was found.

While she was being rushed to hospital, she managed to reveal the identity of her alleged attacker.

Nicu Alin Cristea, 29, has been arrested by police and is awaiting trial.

A Facebook tribute page set up for Ms Dragne described her as angel.

“We’ll love you always,” one post said.

Other comments on the page warn others not to fall in to a similar situation.

“Do not put your trust in people known only on Facebook,” one user wrote.
