Alitalia confirms ex-Ferrari boss Montezemolo as chairman
MILAN (Reuters) - Alitalia confirmed on Wednesday the appointment of former Ferrari boss Luca Cordero di Montezemolo as non-executive chairman of the Italian airline following the tie-up with Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways.
In a statement Alitalia also confirmed that Etihad CEO James Hogan had been appointed non-executive vice chairman.
Etihad has bought a 49 percent stake in Alitalia and invested some 560 million euros as part of a rescue plan to turn the troubled Italian flagship carrier around.
