NSW bushwalker now missing for a week

A 21-year-old Sydney man has been missing for a week in bushland in central western NSW.

Sevak Simonian left his Belrose home to go bushwalking last Monday night.

When he hadn't returned by Thursday, concerned relatives reported him missing.

His car was found in the Kanangara Walls Road car park at Kanangara Boyd National Park near Oberon on Friday night.

Mr Simonian had previously gone on bushwalks alone in the same area, police said.

A search team will spend Monday looking for the man.

Police helicopters joined officers on the ground, the Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance and State Emergency Service volunteers in the search.

Mr Simonian is described as 180cm tall, with a thin build, olive skin, brown eyes and short, black curly hair.
