Sydney murder suspect denied bail

A man charged over the murder of a young Sydney father-of-two has been denied bail.

Diago Carbone, 23, was arrested on Friday as he tried to board a flight to Thailand.

He was later charged with the murder of Brad Dillon, 25, who was fatally shot on a Leichhardt street earlier in August.

Carbone didn't apply for bail during a brief appearance at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.

It was formally denied by Magistrate Michael Morahan.

Carbone, from Russell Lea, is due to appear in Sydney's Central Local Court on Tuesday for a mention via audio visual link.

Police say they expect to make further arrests over Mr Dillon's murder.
