More flights to Fiji and NZ

Aussies wanting to holiday in Fiji or San Francisco now have more flight options to choose from.

Fiji Airways has added two new services between Melbourne and Nadi after the arrival of its new ATR72 aircraft for regional flights freed up the carrier’s Boeing 737s.

Fiji Airways chief executive Stefan Pichler says the increase in capacity is good news for the airline and Fiji’s tourism industry.

“Peak seasons now starting with Australia and New Zealand school holidays means very high loads so the increased capacity and additional frequency options to these key markets will be good for all tourism stakeholders.”

More frequencies will be added during peak periods (July, October, December and January) to Sydney and Christchurch as well. Fiji Airways currently operates once a week (Saturdays) to Christchurch and 15 times a week to Sydney.

The Fijian government recently revealed visitor arrivals from New Zealand in April were up 18.1 percent compared to April 2013.
