Witnesses wanted for Port Kennedy hit and run

Police are seeking witnesses to a hit and run in Port Kennedy in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.

At about 7am on June 1 a black SAAB convertible collided with a Honda motorcycle travelling north on Ennis Avenue.

Police believe the SAAB had turned into Ennis Avenue from Port Kennedy Drive.

The crash caused extensive damage to both vehicles and the 38-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his bike, landing heavily on the road.

According to police. the driver of the SAAB stopped and walked over to the rider before getting back into his vehicle and driving off.

Several other drivers stopped to assist the rider.

The rider was taken to Royal Perth Hospital. He required surgery to repair a broken wrist and was fitted with a back brace to immobilise his neck and spine, which were also fractured.

The SAAB was on older style model with a part registration being numerals similar to 373.

The driver had fair skin, medium build and was about 160 to 170cms tall.

He had a goatee beard, half black and half white divided down the centre.

Police believethe driver used the first name of Troy and frequented the Port Kennedy area.
