'Starved, trapped in a closet': boy's horrifying alleged abuse
A Texas couple has been accused of keeping their five-year-old son locked in a closet, bruised and starved.
Father Bradley and Stepmother Tammi Bleimeyer reportedly kept the boy in a tiny closet with only a mattress in there, the New York Daily News reported.
With bones clearly visible, police said the boy was found wearing only a diaper and locked in the tiny room.
The boy was severely underweight and was taken to hospital while his parents were arrested for child endangerment.
“He was severely under nourished, bone sticking out, bumps, bruises. His skin was coming off on his back. It's a horrific horrific situation,” Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Assistant Chief Mark Herman told KHOU-TV.
Authorities were alerted to the alleged abuse by the boy's teen stepbrother.
Tammi Bleimeyer was released on bail, while Bradley was being held without bond due to being out on bail for a previous arrest.
