MKR's Dan and Steph launch new restaurant
MKR stars Dan and Steph Mulheron are now running their own show in the kitchen of their brand new restaurant.
After winning the 2013 series of My Kitchen Rules, Dan and Steph Mulheron are now running their own show in the kitchen of their brand new restaurant.
“We wake up every morning and pinch ourselves, very early mind you,” Dan said.
The couple claimed $250,000 in prize money, and a reputation as the best home cooks in Australia.
“It's really sunk in what we've achieved, because without what we've done on MKR, and without what we did last year, we wouldn't have what we've got now,” Dan said.
Tonight, the pair will officially lift the lid on their restaurant, Eat with Dan & Steph, on the waterfront in their home city of Hervey Bay.
“We love it. It's an adrenalin rush all day, everyday,” Steph said.
The enterprise has been months in the making, and today they have been busy putting the final touches to their menu of modern Australian dishes, with a classic ‘Dan and Steph’ twist.
“You've just got to learn how to cope with that pressure, and MKR’s definitely perfect preparation,” Dan said.
The couple’s new restaurant is just part of the bigger picture for Dan and Steph, who also want to start a family together.
But they can only do that through costly IVF treatment.
“It'll be our next goal that we'll achieve and hopefully it'll happen sometime this year.”
