Woman killed by parked car rolling out of driveway

A woman has died after her car rolled back onto her from a driveway in Adelaide's north eastern suburbs.

The incident occurred in Wilkins Court at Wynn Vale at about 9.30am.

Police said the car had continued to roll after hitting the victim and crashed into a neighbouring property.

They said the 81-year-old woman had returned home from shopping and got out of the car without putting it into park or the handbrake on.

It has prompted police to warn motorists - especially those in hilly suburbs - to always apply the handbrake before leaving their car.

Earlier this month an aged-care worker visiting a client died after being hit by a car in a driveway at Fairview Park.

Meanwhile, four people have been injured, including one seriously, in a head-on crash on Victor Harbor Rd last night.

Police said the two cars collided at the intersection with Old Willunga Hill Rd at Willunga at about 11.50pm yesterday.

One of the three men in one of the vehicles was seriously injured and airlifted to the Flinders Medical Centre.

The other two occupants, along with the sole female occupant of the other vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police have asked anyone who witnesses the crash to contact Crime Stoppers.
