Deer causes teenagers' fatal fire crash

A young woman has died in a horrific car crash after her car hit a deer on a country road.

Daniela Ruggiero, a budding dancer, lost control of her yello Citroen C1 when the animal leaped in front of her car and caused her to swerve into a Volvo and burst into flames.

The 18-year-old was traveling with a friend, with both stuck in the car as it turned into an inferno, the Daily Mail reported.

Both girls were killed in the crash that happened on a rural A10 in nearby Puckeridge, north of London.

The man in the Volvo desperately tried to rescue the girls, injuring his leg in the process, but he was unable to save them.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment.

Ruggiero, who was training to be a dance teacher at a college in Royston, had only gotten her license this year back in January.

Family and friends paid tribute to the "beautiful and talented" teenagers.

A friend, Bethany Trower wrote on Twitter: "RIP to my beautiful talented best friend who will be missed by so many."

"Daniela you were an amazing dancer and person. My thoughts are with your family and friends." said another friend Kerrie Crockford.
