Silva loses to Bisping after bizarre premature celebration

Michael Bisping has defeated Anderson Silva in London, with the latter convinced he'd won the fight in bizarre scenes at the end of the third round.

In an amazing contest at Fight Night 84, Bisping won by unanimous decision, but Silva celebrated prematurely after a brutal knee to the face that sent Bisping crashing to the canvas.

As the third round was finishing up, Bisping complained to the referee that he'd dropped his mouthguard.

Silva saw his chance and pounced, delivering the stunning blow to the side of Bisping's head.

The 40-year-old Brazilian then went into celebration mode, jumping onto the top of the outside of the cage despite the referee failing to stop the fight.

Members of his team had to convince a shocked Silva to get down and carry on.

"It was crazy. Absolute madness," UFC President Dana White said.

"If he (Anderson) would have jumped on top of him he would have finished the fight. But he didn't. He walked away."

Unfortunately for Silva the fight continued and Bisping took it on a 48-47 decision in front of his home crowd.

Bisping was delighted to beat the man he called 'the greatest martial artist of all time.

"I will go and see a doctor and then maybe a beer," he added.
